Sakhile & Madoda make up the versatile duo C4 DJs who hail from Kwa-Thema. Under the management of Deadly Combo, the duo has been killing the dance floor for a while now. Both DJs have a few years experience in the industry and their combination has been fire. Having shared a stage with Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, Oscar Mbo and Vinny Da Vinci just to name a few, the duo is destined to rock the national and international music scene.

DJ Ngamla

Although he was born in The United States, Dylan Ward was raised on the humble farms of Robertson just outside Cape Town. DJ Ngamla grew up working in his family restaurant business, never thinking he would one day be performing for crowds of thousands at some of the most prominent festivals. He started his career in 2013 after being introduced to Gqom music by his friend at a popular bar in one of the local townships, since then he's made sure to take his audience on a journey.

Judy Jay

Judy Jay also known as Judy Mahlatji was born in Tjetane, a small village in Sekhukhune, Limpopo. As a not only young but also female DJ, Judy has caught a lot of people's attention in the South Africa's House music community with her innovative sounds. Her colossal love for Deep House can be felt in the music she delivers throughout her DJ sets. Judy is a force to be reckoned with.

Drega

Drega, real name Yanga Mzimkhulu was born and raised in a small town called Dutywa in the Eastern Cape. The young producer went on to Lovedale Art, Agriculture & Accounting College to further his interest in Art and Design. It's this love for all things creative that has given Drega the flair that he is so well known for. He loves producing Afro House and Gqom and his sound is influenced by the likes of Culoe De Song, Black Coffee, Da Capo, Diplo and Tefo Foxx.

ABOUT DIESEL DENIM FRIDAY

Diesel Denim Fridays (DDF) began as a way for Diesel to bring South Africans' love for music to the forefront of the brand’s local community. What started out as a simple way to entertain Diesel customers in store, has now evolved into a national initiative where the Diesel brand hopes to empower emerging DJs through the DDF platform. DDF is also moving towards a more digital approach as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each month, Diesel, in partnership with Shimza and the HERO DJs from each city (Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town) will select a set of emerging DJs to be given the DDF platform as a way to showcase their talent. On the last Friday of the month each HERO DJ will stream live from a different Diesel location across the country, with their selection of three top emerging DJs. All mixes will be streamed through our dedicated DDF website and will be made available after each DDF session.

You will be able to stream, listen, download and vote for your favourite mixes. Voting will be open for 15 days after each session. From there, the HERO DJs will select an overall finalist from their region. The finalists will be in the running to win an opportunity of a lifetime and join their HEROES at the top. The winner DJ will hold the title of Diesel Denim Friday Champion and will receive a cash prize of R50 000, mentorship from the resident DDF HERO DJs, and the rare opportunity to release a track on all digital platforms with support from, and co-produced by, SUPERHERO DJ, Shimza.

How It Works

STREAM GOES LIVE

On the last Friday of every month from 4PM, the DDF website will go live with mixes from across the country, streamed live from select Diesel stores.

LISTEN TO MIXES

Once the mixes are live, you will be able to listen to them again through the DDF website and even download them.

GET VOTING

For a period of 2 weeks after the mixes go live you will be able to vote for your favourite mixes on the DDF site, bringing your favourites one step closer to taking a place amongst the HEROES.
